A very wise friend of mine once (last year) bought me a whole box of Konditor & Cook brownies for my birthday and it was glorious. All my other gifts became inferior (generous family and friends, your gifts too were *obviously* very much appreciated, please don’t stop buying me presents). It’s been forever since I last had some, and I finally stumbled across a Konditor & Cook and made my pickings.
Naughty yummy treat: Pecan Caramel Brownie and Fudgepacker Brownie.
Price: £2.60 and £2.40.
Portion size: Perfect.
Sickliness: Rich, but not sickly.
Notes: Oh my gosh, both of these brownies are just so good. They are truly irresistible – even doing this post write up is making me dribble. They are marvellously gooey, moist, and rich, but not too sweet. There’s nothing worse than a cake like brownie, it’s all about having that pure moist brownie squidge and these babies have it in bucket loads.
The Pecan Caramel Brownie is wheat free (it’s made with gluten free flour) and packed full with caramelised pecans. It has a different texture to a standard brownie, it is less smooth but still beautifully moist and dense, plus the caramelised pecans taste incredible. I was a bit sceptical about the whole pecan aspect, but omg, this brownie is *amazing*. It (obviously) has a nutty taste, but it’s not overpoweringly so. It just all works together so well.
The Fudgepacker Brownie is a chocolately wonder, topped with fudge and lathered with sea salt caramel. The dark chocolate chips throughout balance out the sweetness, meaning I can chain-eat many without the fear of them becoming sickly. It has a perfect undercooked texture, it’s basically just a slab of pure undercooked brownie perfection that literally melted in my mouth. Mmm hmm.
